Introduction:

Augustus Check is a first-rate wool and viscose suiting, woven in Italy from the finest quality yarns. Ex-designer deadstock, originally created for a top British men's and ladies' wear designer renowned for his unique classic British style.

Colour:

Boasting a palette of dark and sophisticated hues. The warp and weft yarns combine an almost black/navy and Savoy Blue yarns that intersect to produce the subtle but very smart windowpane check. This impressive Augustus check has an air of respectable authority perfect for clothes that mean business!

Properties:

A subtle and lightly textured, none irritating feel, due to the viscose content, and weave of tightly twisted yarns. These yarns produce the characteristic lightly textured feel when combined with an almost basket-like weave formation. This light/mediumweight breathable suiting fabric has a reassuring so drape quality and is more resistant to creases!

Perfect for warmer climates and seasons where you still have to look smartly attired. The close weave, when held to the light, has visible air pockets between the yarns, and it is this strong and clever construction that makes tropical-type suitings perfect for warmer seasons and climates.

Garment suggestions:

Augustus Check will look great cut on the bias for tucked and draped Vivienne Westwood style dresses and skirts. Other uses are pencil skirts, and classic semi-tailored silhouettes, jackets, waistcoats and 50's style cigarette pants, add a matching waistcoat such as The Jemima Waistcoat.

If you love bold tartan statements add some The Cordelia Trousers, Pinafore dresses, fit and flare dresses circle skirts and lots of other '40s & '50s  Rockabilly, Retro and Lindy Bop Styles. Create classic kilts, coats, jackets, capes and poncho wraps.

Other Uses:

Hats, caps, bags and accessories.
