Introduction:

Welcome to Fabworks’ Warp Linen: a collection of carefully curated colours, created from a base cloth of linen and cotton. This fabric is the same base cloth as the Fabworks House Linen Twills that launched in May 2023.

Swallow Teal - House Linen Twill is but one of the new additions to the collection offering you the opportunity to extend your linen makes into your A/W wardrobe and to be the perfect accompaniment to our 2023 HoH Crosshatch Chronicles collection.

Initially sourced as deadstock overruns, we rescued this fabric that originally had a light-washed colour, which meant that it would be perfect to overdye. Now rejuvenated and repurposed into some of our favourite shades, the Warp Linen collection features 5 stunning colours that sit perfectly with The Crosshatch Chronicles. Colour:

Swallow Teal is a nod to the blue iridescence, the sheen, on swallows and house martin's black plumage. These industrious little birds are the herald of summer swooping high in the hot summer skies and collecting insects upon the wing, reflecting that almost teal turquoise we associate with the summer heat. Colour-infused feel-good high summer teal / turquoise. The perfect jewel hue whatever the season.

Properties:

The Warp Linens have been created through dyeing and finishing a twill woven linen 43% & cotton 57% blend fabric. The diagonals of the superfine twill weave sit alongside a scattering of characteristic subtle slubs, resulting in a lightly brushed finish. This cosy but not cloying, cool and breathable fabric is stable yet drapey, and features a super soft handle that is simply sublime, perfect for a multitude of garments.

One of the many benefits that the House Linen offers is that it will wash and wear forever, only improving with age due to the hard-wearing properties of its natural fibres: cotton and linen.

Of course, we thoroughly encourage all to use these fabrics alongside Heart of Huddersfield 2023 makes, after all, they are designed specifically to be a perfect match for these wools.

Simple slashed-neck T-shirt style tops and classic shirts are perfect for standalone garments made using Warp Linen (HoH23) and will become key pieces in your wardrobe for year-round wear. Alternatively, create wide-legged trousers, tunics, smocks, and summer dresses.
