Introduction:

Dark Choc - Matte Showerproof is a superb, ex-designer-closely woven, smooth matte, sturdy showerproof fabric.

Colour:

This ex-designer showerproof fabric is super chic, lightweight and durable. Created here for you in rich dark bitter chocolate brown. The face is slightly lighter in tone than the reverse. Brown is an ideal hue for outdoor enthusiasts and sits perfectly with woodland greens and camo. The matte finish is so smart there are a plethora of practical and stylish creations you can make.

Properties:

This clever fabric has a soft drape and is malleable, but will maintain a crisp handle allowing details such as back pleats on a trench coat, pocket flaps and epaulettes, etc. will all look super sharp.

Garment Suggestions:

Dark Choc is perfect for lined/unlined raincoats and mackintoshes. Add jewellery-like hardware with gleaming zips, studs, fasteners in rose gold, gleaming platinum and gunmetal for a truly designer look. Create practical sportswear or even showerproof trousers and cagoules.

Other Uses:

You can also use this fabric for bags and bag-making accessories and pack-away jackets. Give this classic fabric a place in your wardrobe and it will certainly be one you won't regret.

This fabric is showerproof but not waterproof. A light shower will bead off. We recommend purchasing a sample  to conduct your own tests.

Just the job

Made a holiday jacket from Vogue 1891, (lengthen the sleeve and added elastic). I didn’t prewash as not sure of the finish. But as a summer coat this fabric is just the right weight, and isn’t slippery. It pressed well on cotton setting even took steam. I lined the hood with jersey, but it wears nicely even on bare arms over summer dresses. Now to test the showerproofing - British summer !
