There's something very antique, Edwardian, Victorian in style about this first rate shirting fabric. Perhaps its the cool, crisp and lustrous, almost silky feel and the wonderful charcoal 5mm stripes alternating with the antique ivory background that give Mina's Stripe its antique style.
With a light crisp stable handle that will gather, pin-tuck, pleat and drape perfectly, making it ideal for Steam Punk costumes , Historical costumes and elegant blouses with high necks and ruffled collars. Why not take the Edwardian theme one step further and add some neat pin tucks and antique lace? Also excellent for classic shirts, blouses, tunic tops, pretty summer dresses and skirts. Why not use for cute children's clothing too, try rompers, playsuits, frilly dresses and skirts, shorts and knickers, wouldn't a contrasting red ric-rac braid look so cute along side Mina's Stripe?

I absolutely adore Mina's Stripe. I've used this fabric for two projects so far, once to make a historical dress, and a second time to make a shirt for my own daily wardrobe, which I simply cannot get enough of wearing. It's light and comfortable to wear, and the stripe itself is just the right width (I'm very fussy with stripes! Too narrow and they hurt my eyes, too wide and they just don't appeal to me aesthetically). Creates the perfect vampiric feel to go along with the namesake.
The colors are perfect : black, and near white, just enough for a vintage touch.
The weaving is very tight, with a fine and regular thread, so working with diagonals give you some beautifull fittings
(sorry for my very bad english).
The fabric is so light and smooth that it give a great success for summer's clothe. Fresh as air !
